Meet the band
Based in Albuquerque. We play anywhere within about 100 miles, from Santa Fe to Rio Rancho to Belen.
SWAG is a live band from Albuquerque, and our job is simple: get everyone out of their chairs.
We play the songs people grew up loving: Motown and classic soul, swing, and the pop and rock hits that fill a dance floor. Abby Maxwell sings lead and Ric Dorin plays guitar and sings, with some of Albuquerque's best players on bass, drums, sax and keys. We read the room, take requests, and keep the energy where you want it.
Need two moods in one night? We can play a mellow acoustic set over dinner, then plug in for a full dance party.
The name? Abby's daughter Hannah came up with it. Ask her about it.
You'll find us at North Valley wineries, brewery patios, wedding receptions, corporate parties and holiday bashes across New Mexico.

Hold On I'm Comin'
SWAG's 2015 CD, recorded at Sanctuary Sound Studio in Albuquerque.
When drummer Clay Lowder announced he was moving to southern Colorado, the band booked studio time to capture the lineup before he left. Then they kept the doors open and invited musical friends in for what the liner notes call a CD barn-raising: extra singers, saxophones, keys, violin and valve trombone.
The result is thirteen songs from Bill Withers to Bob Marley to Paul Simon. Most of them are in the jukebox above.
- Abby Maxwell vocals
- Ric Dorin guitar & vocals
- Guy Lagerway bass & vocals
- Clay Lowder drums & percussion
Plus guests Bonita Ferus, Tracey Whitney, Therese Williams, Hannah Maxwell and Michaela Bateman on vocals; Joshua Coleman and Justin Sanchez on sax; Jamie Harrison and Leo Bynum on keys; Jackie Jaramillo on guitar; Muni Kulasinghe on violin; Richard Bergman on valve trombone.
